How does my Membership benefit the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail?

Memberships sustain the day-to-day activities of this organization. Our volunteers and advocates to assist with these activities related to the trail:

Development

Research viable projects and lead collaborative efforts to connect and close gaps in the trail.
Support enhancement projects by our public partners and advocate for amenities.

Communication

Maintain website, blog and social media platforms
Print regionally distributed brochures
Present to interested local organizations
Exhibit at special events to promote trail use

Fundraising

Draft letters
Maintain relationships with local individuals and businesses
Organize fundraising events

Maintenance

Develop and maintain a volunteer base to assist our Public Partners with maintenance activities.
Plant native grasses and flowers to improve the experience of trail users

Volunteer Opportunities:

PAC (Maintenance) Volunteers

The Pumpkinvine Advisory Committee has a volunteer program for interested parties to help with:
  1. Monitoring activities on the trail
  2. Routine trail maintenance
  3. Occasional work such as cleaning up storm damage and special trail enhancement projects.

Projects that volunteers have undertaken in recent years are:

  • Sealing cracks in the trail surface.
  • Trimming brush along the sides of the trail.
  • Planting and maintaining plots of flowers along the trail.
  • Clearing fence rows with trail neighbors who request new fences.

Do you have professional or executive level skills, and want to give back to the community? We are seeking Board Members who can commit to 3 year terms and are willing to donate 4-5 hours per month to our organization. Communications Committee | Content Writers
Calling all public relations professionals, writers and journalists! If you have an interest in the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail and also have skillsets relevant to this field, we'd love to hear from you. Help us create content for our blog and newsletters, and help us get the word out to the community!
Event Volunteers
We are hoping to host at least one in-person event in the month of September, and are taking applications for volunteers! Let us know if you're interesting in helping plan or organize events.
Recorder

Seeking an experienced individual to attend ten, 1.5 hour board meetings annually, and record minutes.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Google Docs and/or Microsoft Word.
  • Superior typing skills
  • Attentive
  • Willing and able to ask for clarification
Technology/Data Consultant
Seeking individuals with CRM software and/or general data management experience to assist the Board of Directors with various tasks on an as-needed basis. Seeking individuals with the following proficiencies: -Excel -Word -SSO
