The Krider Rest Area is now open, and is the direct result of a collaboration between various community entities including:

• Town of Middlebury
• Friends of Middlebury Parks
• Community Foundation of Elkhart County
• Bontrager Family Foundation
• Friends of the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail
• Pumpkinvine Cyclery
• The Scott & Vonnie Trumble Family

The facility has two handicap accessible restrooms complete with diaper changing stations, and a bench and hooks for trail users looking to change into or out of clothes. On the exterior it also features a bike repair stand, complete with tools and air pump, and a water bottle filling station and drinking fountain. The facility will be open three seasons and re-open when freezing temperatures no longer threaten water lines. Middlebury Parks Department plans to close the restroom on November 1st to winterize.
